Mikes Tortoise & Hare Cafe & Catering LLC

Mike's Tortoise & Hare Cafe & Catering is owned by Mike & Sallie Clawson of Bristol CT. Mike is originally from North Carolina where he met & married Sallie (Roberts). They have 2 sons, Alex & Brad and have lived in Bristol since 1995. Mike graduated from CT Culinary Institute in 1996 and was Sous Chef at the Cottage Restaurant in Plainville CT from Sept 1996 till April 2007. He then started up Mike's N.C. BBQ & Catering, a food cart which was located across from the Court House on N. Main ST in Bristol CT. Mike's love of cooking and baking started at around age 12 and he had always dreamed of owning a restaurant. Having acquired Mike's Tortoise & Hare is a dream come true and he looks forward to many years of sharing some of his favorite Southern Style recipes and especially his grandmother's desserts.
